Joane Copping elected to the IOM3 Advisory Council

Joane Copping elected to the IOM3 Advisory Council to represent the Affiliate grade.

Joane has worked in smelting industry for 30 years, and is a strong advocate for professional registration, having started several years ago as a Registered Science Technician herself. She now holds both Chartered Scientist and Chemist status.

In her new role representing the Affiliate grade, she will be responsible for laboratory management and method development, focusing on operational and environmental compliance. In addition, Joane's function includes quality system management, where she is able to indulge her passion for identifying and solving problems.

She says, 'Volunteering is important to me, having served many years on committees for the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) and the Science Council, along with providing mentoring through the RSC. I have also worked with the institute for apprenticeships and technical education on apprenticeship projects. Recently I joined the IOM3 Audit Committee, to expand my knowledge and I feel my enthusiasm and experience could be put to good use as a member of the IoM3 Advisory Council.'
