IOM3 Fellow wins Armourers & Brasiers’ Company Prize

Dame Molly Stevens won the award for her work in ultrasensitive disease diagnostics and advanced therapeutic delivery.

Professor Dame Molly Stevens DBE FREng FRS CEng FIMMM is the John Black Professor of Bionanoscience, Institute for Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Physiology at the University of Oxford. She is also affiliated with the Department of Physiology, Anatomy & Genetics, and serves as Deputy Director of the Kavli Institute for Nanoscience Discovery.

Professor Dame Stevens was awarded the Armourers & Brasiers’ Company Prize by the Royal Society for her groundbreaking contributions to ultrasensitive disease diagnostics and advanced therapeutic delivery, which benefit both individuals and society.

The Royal Society Armourers & Brasiers' Company Prize is awarded for excellence in basic research in functional or structural materials, where the research is motivated by use of these materials and is both fundamental and for the benefit of society

First awardedin 1985, the Prize was established with support of the Worshipful Company of Armourers & Brasiers', a livery company originally composed of armourers and brass workers.

Professor Stevens said, ‘I am delighted to receive this award which recognises the dedication and creativity of my amazing team of researchers and students. Our wonderful interdisciplinary team is very motivated to keep working towards transformative healthcare technologies that are accessible to all.’
