Hong Kong TMCLK - Innovations and Challenges for Subsea Tunnels
Add to calThe Institution of Civil Engineers 1 Great George Street Westminster LONDON
Are you curious about the engineering marvel that is the Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok tunnel? Do you want to hear from the Project Director who led the design and construction of this impressive subsea structure? If so, you should attend the joint British Tunnelling Society & MinSouth lecture on February 8th, featuring Antoine Schwob from Bouygues Travaux Public. In this lecture, you will learn about the challenges and solutions of building one of the world's longest subsea tunnels, which spans 5.5 km and connects Hong Kong International Airport on Chek Lap Kok Island to the mainland. These tunnels are part of a larger project that aims to enhance the connectivity and accessibility of the airport and the surrounding areas. The lecture will be held at 18:00 at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) headquarters in London. You can also watch it live online. Before the lecture, you can enjoy tea and coffee at 17:30, and after the lecture, you can mingle with other attendees over drinks and food at the newly reopened ICE bar, sponsored by Bouyges-Murphy JV. This event is free and open to all, but please register online beforehand to secure your spot. For more information, including a flyer with more details and instructions on how to stream, please visit the MinSouth website at https://minsouth.org.uk/event/joint-british-tunnelling-society-minsouth-lecture/. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from an expert and network with fellow engineers and enthusiasts. We hope to see you there!
