UNFORTUNATELY THE SPEAKER CANNOT NOW MAKE THIS DATE AND WE HOPE TO INCLUDE THE TALK IN NEXT SEASONS PROGRAMME OF EVENTS. WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN ALTERNATIVE TALK FOR LATER IN NOVEMBER. DETAILS WILL APPEAR ON THE EMMS WEBSITE.
A talk by Dave Stewart, Rolls-Royce
Synopsis
The primary circuit of a pressurised water nuclear power plant is a simple closed loop from the core to the heat exchanger and back to the core. It is also however, an arrangement of complex components made up from a wide variety of materials which are required to meet a range of functional requirements in a challenging environment.
This talk will cover some of the typical materials used in the primary circuit of a pressurised water nuclear power plant, along with the challenges that they must overcome. It will also cover the manufacturing routes used, how they have been introduced and the benefits that they have brought, and how they will continue to evolve to bring further cost and lead-time reduction opportunities.
Meeting will also be available online (Microsoft Teams) Registration on Eventbrite at bit.ly/EMMSEvent (access to Teams meeting will be available through Eventbrite)
