Add to calChapel Lecture Theatre, Penryn Campus, Penryn, Cornwall, TR10 9FE
Lecture by Diccon Rogers.
The lecture will provide a marine contractor's informal overview of how structural engineering and naval architecture is used in the designs of ships and offshore installations and in ship salvage.
Diccon Rogers is the Managing Director of Keynvor Morlift Ltd (KML). KML is a Marine Contractor. It is based in Falmouth and works mainly in the UK and North European sea areas, operating as an integrated contractor with its own vessels, crews, in-house engineering and execution services to carry out full life cycle services of marine and offshore structures, from installation to decommissioning; it also carries out ship salvage, heavy lift, project cargo and many other marine operations. As well as its projects in distant sea areas, KML has been involved in many operations around the Cornish coast, with recent dramatic and successful ship salvage projects including the "Kuzma Minin" and the "Mazarine".
The evening will commence with the CIE AGM followed by the lecture.
