A technical visit to Central Kowloon Route Central Tunnel is organized by the Institute of Materials, Mineral and Mining – Hong Kong Branch (IOM3-HK) on 13 April 2024 (Saturday), Time: 9:30am -12:00pm.
Programme highlights:
Central Kowloon Route (CKR) is a 4.7 km long dual 3-lane trunk road in Central Kowloon linking Yau Ma Tei Interchange in West Kowloon with the road network on Kai Tak Development Area and Kowloon Bay in East Kowloon. CKR, together with Trunk Road T2 and Tseung Kwan O to Lam Tin Tunnel will form Route 6 alignment in the strategic road network..
Bouygues Travaux Publics, with supervision from the Highways Department and Arup Mott Macdonald JV, is constructing Central Kowloon Route Central Tunnel - an approximately 2.8km-long dual 3-lane tunnel between Yau Ma Tei and Ma Tau Kok, two cut-and-cover tunnels at Yau Ma Tei Access Shaft and Ma Tau Kok Access Shaft, a ventilation shaft, an adit and foundation for a ventilation building in Ho Man Tin; and other associated works.
This technical visit will begin with an introduction of the project highlights, tunnel construction and application of innovation in the project. Through the site visit, participants will be able to enter the Central Tunnel to oversee construction of the tunnel.
The visit is free of charge. The number of participants is limited to 20 on a first-come first-served basis with priority given to members of IOM3(HK). Registration is required. The applicants please fill the online application form by the below QR code, or to
