We are delighted to be working with Sandra Morrell to deliver this one-day workshop on business finance and risk management. For today's managers it is essential to have a working knowledge of finance and if you do not have any training or background in finance, you may be at a disadvantage. Understanding the financial cycle will help you see where you fit in your company's financial structure and the financial role of your department. Whether you work in sales, admin, or production you have an influence on your company's finance. You can, for instance, increase sales, increase information flow or prevent wastage. A key part of financial health is to plan for contingencies and manage risks. This course will help you to understand the key concepts of finance and accounting, help you prepare your budgets, and deal with risk management with more confidence.
The course is a careful blend of teaching, case studies and small group exercises to bring the subject matter to life. By the end of the workshop you will understand:
- The differences between the types of legal entities
- Sources of finance and the difference between financial and management accounting
- Bookkeeping basics including commonly used terms, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and management ratios
- Contingency planning and crisis management
- The importance of emergency planning and recovery planning
The course has been created for those in or about to take up their first management or supervisory position, but anyone wanting a a refresher to brush up there skills will also find the content, relevant, accessible and highly motivating.
The fee for this one-day interactive workshop is £615 (+VAT at 20% where applicable). This includes lunch, refreshements and learning materials. IOM3 members and subscribers to our Business Partner Programme are entitled to a discount on the course fee.
